This training is Part 1 of the Facing Your Fears in Schools (FYF-S) training series—an evidence-based intervention designed to help school-based providers and educators identify, understand, and support students with anxiety. In Part 1, you’ll learn how to recognize the signs of anxiety (even in students who struggle to communicate it) and explore the fundamentals of evidence-based treatment.

By the end of this course, participants will have a clearer lens for identifying anxiety and a strong foundation to build on in Part 2, where we’ll dive deeper into implementing the intervention in schools.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify anxiety in students.
  • Compare general anxiety symptoms in students to those that may present in neurodiverse students.
  • Consider what students might be a fit for FYF-S.
  • Describe the core components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety.
