Audrey Blakeley-Smith, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.  Her clinical and research interests are in autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). She is the Director of JFK Partners’ Adult Assessment clinic and the training director of the APA-approved clinical psychology internship in the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Blakeley-Smith is a co-author of Facing Your Fears published in 2011, and Facing Your Fears in Schools published in June 2024, and has adapted Facing Your Fears for autistic teens with IDD. She was the primary investigator on a randomized clinical trial on FYF: IDD funded by the Department of Defense, and is committed to expanding use of the intervention from research to clinical settings.

Judy Reaven, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Pediatrics, JFK Partners, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and a licensed clinical psychologist.  She has worked in the field of autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as a clinician, educator, and researcher for over 35 years. She is Associate Director and Director of Research at JFK Partners, the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in Colorado. Clinical and research interests include identifying and treating mental health symptoms in autism, with a particular interest in the implementation of evidence-based interventions in school settings for students with autism and anxiety. She is the primary developer of the clinic-based Facing Your Fears and school-based Facing Your Fears programs.  Dr. Reaven has worked extensively with interdisciplinary school teams, as many school providers helped to inform the initial versions of Facing Your Fears in Schools (FYF-S).  She has also trained many school teams to successfully deliver FYF-S.  She has been Principal Investigator on private foundation and federal grants (National Institutes of Mental Health[NIMH], Health Research Services Administration [HRSA] and Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute [PCORI]).  She has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, many related to the co-occurrence of anxiety in autism.
